About Van Herp Physiotherapy:

The clinic is located within Meadowbank Sports Centre which hosted the 1970 and 1986 Commonwealth Games along London Road, 10 minutes by public transport from the city Centre of Edinburgh.

Ample parking space is provided on the premises, free of charge.

A friendly centre receptionist will guide you to the waiting and treatment room area which are located on ground level adjacent to the gym area.

A well equipped gymnasium as well as Pilates and other Keep Fit classes are available at competitive prices.

Once the rehabilitation process is over and you recovered from the injury a referral scheme to gym and/or Pilates© classes is available. This is central in our approach to injury rehabilitation in order to prevent recurrences and overload injuries. Together we will bring you back to your former you!

Guy Van Herp
(Chartered Physiotherapist)

Dr Van Herp received his MSc in Physiotherapy from Brussels University (Belgium) in 1978 and subsequently worked in several countries (Scandinavia, USA, Africa, Kuwait) acquiring an expertise in the treatment of muscular skeletal conditions especially low back pain.

After twenty years of clinical work he was appointed as senior lecturer in physiotherapy at Oslo school of physiotherapy(Norway) and later at Kuwait University acquiring expertise in the Scandinavian system of Manual Therapy.

In 1997 he came to Scotland on a PhD scholarship from Queen Margaret University (Edinburgh) investigating the effects of manipulation techniques on low back pain. Since 2001 Dr Van Herp is the founder and owner of Van Herp Physiotherapy and works also as a service provider for UK Athletics, Scottish Institute of Sport and the Scottish Football Association.
